JAKARTA- Residents are clamoring for Anies Baswedan to run again in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election. They believe that this husband of Fery Farhati was a successful leader in his previous five-year term.

Currently, the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) has explicitly stated that it will support Anies Baswedan in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election. This party is part of the change coalition in the 2024 presidential election.

One of those requesting Anies Baswedan to run in the Jakarta gubernatorial election is the Chairman of the Jakarta Raya Prayer Assembly, Lea Costra. She pleads for the former Rector of Paramadina University to enter the political contest in Jakarta.

"We have seen, we feel comfortable being led by Mr. Anies Baswedan. Hopefully, Bang Anies is moved to again become the Governor of Jakarta for a second term," she told Friday, May 24, 2024.

Recently, a Betawi champion named Abdullah also affirmed his support for Anies Baswedan if he runs in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election.

He also claimed that all champions from the Greater Jakarta area would support Fery Farhati's husband if he positively enters the Jakarta political contest.

"If I, God willing, yes. All the champions from Jabodetabek will support Mr. Anies. No matter how long, it will always be Mr. Anies," he said during an interview by KBA News at Hallf Patiunus, Jl. Pati Unus No. F4, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

He said the support is not without reason. According to him, Anies Baswedan was successful as governor for the previous five years.

"In my opinion, successful. Yes, about the floods. Jakarta has had no floods since he became governor," he stated.

Not just residents of Jakarta, Vivi, a young woman from Cikarang, West Java, also stated her strong support if Anies Baswedan runs in the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

This was expressed when she met KBA News at the Halalbihalal gathering of Anies Baswedan volunteers and Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) at Hallf Patiunus, Jl. Pati Unus No. F4, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

"I support it (Anies Baswedan running in the Jakarta gubernatorial election). Because Jakarta was really good under Mr. Anies before. So if it continues, it might be even better," she said.

She admitted that she has directly experienced many of Anies Baswedan's achievements. "(One of them) Transjakarta," said this bespectacled woman.

She hopes that the political parties in Jakarta will be open and nominate Fery Farhati's husband in the Jakarta gubernatorial election. "Hopefully their support is total," she said.

She is optimistic that if Anies Baswedan runs in the Jakarta gubernatorial election, he will easily win. This is because the community already knows the performance of the former Rector of Paramadina University.

"It seems like he will pass if in Jakarta. Because the people of Jakarta have already felt what Mr. Anies has done. Surely they enjoy it," she stated.

Meanwhile, Lea Costra, Chairman of the Jakarta Raya Prayer Assembly, implores Anies Baswedan to run again in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election.

"We beg Bang Anies for the sake of this nation and state, for us residents of Jakarta, the wider community, please continue to be Governor of DKI," she told KBA News, Friday, May 24, 2024.

She also acknowledges that Anies is not ambitious for any position, including the position of Governor of Jakarta. "Because Bang Anies does not need any position, but we need him, we are the ones asking," she explained.

She mentioned that it is not only she who wants Anies to become governor again, but many friends also want the husband of Fery Farhati to participate in the Jakarta political contest.

"Friends also tell, express their feelings, how to convey to Mr. Anies, that we want (Anies) to continue serving as Governor of DKI again," she said.

Currently, only PKS Jakarta has positively proposed the name of Anies Baswedan in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election.
