JAKARTA– Many Indonesians living abroad continue to support Anies Baswedan in his political journey and potential leadership of Indonesia.

One such supporter is Ida Irmayani, a member of *Sahabat Anies Luar Negeri* (SALN) based in New York, USA.

She regularly shares positive achievements of Anies, especially his accomplishments as Governor of Jakarta, with her Indonesian colleagues in New York.

"I frequently educate friends here on Anies’ real achievements during his tenure as Jakarta Governor," she told on Friday, October 11, 2024.

According to her, Anies is someone with a broad perspective. “He’s intelligent, straightforward, courteous, and possesses a truly global mindset,” she explained.

Along with his intelligence, the former Paramadina University Rector also exhibits strong integrity, which she believes is essential for leading Indonesia.

"Anies is the best among the rest. He has clear vision and mission, is consistent, and has integrity. InshaAllah, he’ll be trustworthy. He’s not easily swayed by particular groups. He’s like a northern star, a person with strong conviction. We would feel proud to have a president like Anies—smart, credible, and internationally respected,” she added.

She also highlighted Indonesia’s current struggles, especially concerning widespread corruption.

“If Anies places the right individuals in the right roles, InshaAllah, Indonesia’s chronic issues like corruption could be addressed, restoring the nation’s health and competitive edge internationally,” she stated.
